By Train - Kuala Lumpur's KTM Komuter trains were extended to Kuala Kubu Bharu. You will have to change trains at Rawang; the shuttle service from Rawang to Tanjung Malim via KKB runs every one hour and takes 25 minutes.

By Bus - To/From Kuala Lumpur: Bus services are somewhat inconvenient but not impossible. Take a Metrobus bus (destination "Rawang") from Kuala Lumpur's Puduraya bus terminal or outside the Sinar Kota building on Jalan Tun Perak to Rawang town. At Rawang, switch to Metrobus No.36 (destination "Tanjung Malim"). It will stop by Kuala Kubu Bharu along the way. Alternatively, there are also MARA Liner buses to Tanjung Malim, which also stop by Kuala Kubu Bharu.

By Road - Kuala Kubu Bharu is about 5km off the Kuala Lumpur-Ipoh old trunk road (Federal Route One), along the road to Fraser's Hill and Raub in Pahang (Federal Route 55). The nearest interchange to exit if you are using the North-South Expressway is Rawang if you are travelling from the south, and Tanjung Malim if you are coming from the north. At both exits, you will have to travel along the old trunk road to get to Kuala Kubu Bharu. The roads are well signboarded. It is about 60km from Kuala Lumpur and 40km from Fraser's Hill.

A colonial era district officer - Ranking had supposedly shot a white crocodile which was regarded as the river guardian despite being told not to do so. According to local beliefs, his act had caused the calamity to occur and all that was left of him was his hand. Ranking’s hand was interred in a grave at the Kuala Kubu Rest House.

You can know your luck by consulting fortune telling service from the monks there. Take pictures or enjoy the scenery and colourful flora around the temple.  Tortoise and koi pond are also found in the temple.

Sungai Selangor dam is a picturesque sight for those travelling from Kuala Kubu Bharu to Fraser's Hill along the road. Many visitors stop by for fishing or a photograph beside the edges of this huge lake, framed by dramatic scenery of distant mountains, green valleys and ominous clouds.

KKB is a small town. Everything in the town centre is accessible by foot. Around the town centre there are various Hindu, Taoist and Buddhist temples which are also accessible by foot. Near the golf course there is an Aborigine village named Kampung Tun Razak. The residential areas around KKB are very scenic and provide great opportunities for bird watching and photography.

Let the adventure spirit fire out from you and explore this historical town.

Bukit Kutu is the name of the one famous hill located at the Kuala Kubu Bahru, near Kg Pertak where the local Orang Asli resided.  The infamous Kuala Kubu Bahru Dam is the landmark where the junction to Kg Pertak is.  Historically, Bukit Kutu used to be a weekend retreat for the British and it was bombed by the Japanese during the war.  At 1053m ht or 3,456 ft height, it was once a colonial hill station called ‘Treacherous Hill’ until usurped by neighbouring Fraser’s Hill in popularity.  Today, only the remains of the bungalows here that once overlooked the lush valley are the chimney, fireplace and well.

The climb take up to Bukit Kutu takes up to 3 - 4 hours. Along the way you will see lush greeneries, interesting wildlife and large boulders. Eventually, you'll reach a scrubby patch before entering a clearing, where an aging chimney towers above the ground - this is the peak of Gunung Kutu. Scramble up a nearby rocky mound on a clear day and you'll get a panoramic view of clouds, valleys, mountains, dam and Kuala Kubu Bharu .
